Project Highlights

Herold Engineering is proud to have been involved in the complete berth rebuild of the Tsawwassen Berth 1 Ferry Terminal including a new steel vehicle loading ramp, support tower, hydraulic lift system, wing-walls, line dolphins, turning dolphins and on-shore improvements, shore stabilization, a new waiting room building and modifications to the existing service building to house the new hydraulic power unit and associated electrical components. Herold also coordinated the efforts of the electrical, geotechnical and corrosion protection sub-consultants. Marine engineering services included studies of berth fits for the full range of small and intermediate vessels in the BCF fleet, on-shore stabilization design (riprap) and preparation of the relocation plan for floating leads and ramp studies over the full range of tides and vessel freeboards. Herold provided Tender and construction services through to completion of the project and issued final record drawings to BC Ferries. The project was completed on schedule with a one month terminal shutdown.
