Project Highlights

Herold Engineering was retailed by PAL Aerospace Ltd. through their Design-Build Contractor PGH Consulting Services Ltd. in August 2019 to provide multi-disciplinary consulting services for their new Airport Hangar to be constructed at the Campbell River Airport.

The hangar measured 30.48 m x 54.86 x and was a pre-engineered steel building designed to accommodate a 33.53m x 8.53m dual sliding door for a Dash 8 aircraft. Also included in the programming is a two storey maintenance and office portion in the building with heavy timber entry structures. The building was constructed on softer soils at depth and required a detailed concrete raft slab solution to mitigate gravity and seismic displacements.
